Deilus fugax (Olivier, 1790) (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) in Poland: new data, relict status, habitat requirements, and conservation prospects
Abstract
Deilus fugax (Olivier, 1790) is recorded for the first time from the Knyszyn Forest, Poland. All previously published localities are presented and verified. The species may be considered a relict of historical forest conditions, when disturbances such as fire, played a major role in shaping forest ecosystems. Notes on the distribution, habitat requirements and biology of the species are provided, and conservation implications are briefly discussed. Spathius rubidus Rossi, 1794 (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Doryctinae) is recorded as
a parasitoid of D. fugax.
